I've Been Tagged!

Well, I guess I've been "tagged". And seeing the tagging thats been going on, I'm glad to have gotten the short one *smile*

The rules? Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player chooses 4 people, posts their names, then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they are tagged.
MMM...who to choose??

1) Where I was 10 years ago: It was 1998, and I was trying to survive 8th grade at Cedar Heights Jr High, hanging out with Elizabeth, Alex, & Scott.

2) 5 things on my "to do list" today: Balance checkbook, pay bills, rest and recover from my cough and fractured rib. Yikes! (not 5 things but, there isn't much I'm doing as a sick, broken boned woman!)

3) Things I would do if I became a billionaire: Pay off my house and make some improvements, invest & save, travel, and of course...SHOP! *smile*

4) 3 Of my Bad Habits: Not eating healthy, being lazy, being too selfish

5) 5 places I've lived: Kent/Covington, Springville, Orem, Provo, Running Springs, Lake Arrowhead, Midvale and West Valley City. (I've moved 6 times in the last 3 years...geez!)

6) 5 Jobs I've had: Did odd jobs for my Dad's business "Stephenson Dental Arts", Grocery Bagger at "Safeway Grocery", Assistant at "Vista Optical", Assistant at "Fikse, USA", Credit Union Teller, Credit Union Document Specialist. It think that about covers it...

7)Something Most People Don't Know About Me: This was a tough one...I'm a pretty open person, but I've figured it out.
Most people know I've always wanted my pilot licence. But most don't know that my dream job in high school was to be a Stunt Pilot. Believe it or not, its true! I would lay in bed at night with my headphones, listening to music and dreaming about when I would be a stunt pilot. I was AWESOME! *smile*

I'm done!
I tag: Krista, Kelli, Karynn, and Morgan. But I'm not gonna bug you about it. If you see you've been tagged, great, do it! If not, then its not the end of the world if you don't answer the questions....I think *wink*

Another Quick Note...

Just wanted to leave another quick note. In case you didn't know, and haven't figured it out yet, Kollin and I have just purchased our very own, first home! We are VERY excited about it, and we're loving it!
We moved in a week ago (and we slowly continue to move in, since Kollin is the only one who has really been able to do much) and have loved having a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom home of our own, and a fenced in back yard with a swing set for Kourtney! She goes out side every day now, and goes on the swing (there is a baby swing that is perfect for her), barks and laughs at the neighbor's dogs, and runs all over the yard.
Anyway, thats our latest piece of exciting news! Thanks for reading!

Kyden & Kourtney's Fun Play Date!

Grandma Sue was babysitting Kyden today, and they decided to come play.
Kyden loves Kourtney and Kourtney seemed to enjoy entertaining Kyden. They had a lot of fun together, and there was a lot of laughing. It was awesome to watch. Here are some great pictures of the "K cousins"!

"Look at me! I'll be walking soon!"
Kyden loved laughing with his cousin Kourtney!

Kourtney and Ky show off in front of the mirror.

Grandma Sue and KyGuy!

"I'm in Charge Here!"
Its easy to give in when he flashes his big grin!

"Let me show you how this works, Kyden"

He likes the Giraffe.

"Whew! What a full, fun day!"
(This is one of Kourtney's favorite positions: Laying back onto her bed. Its kinda silly, and I'm not sure how she figured it out, but every time she goes to her bed, she falls back onto it.)

There was a lot of this kind of laughing going on today. It was so fun!
(Don't worry, Kourtney never poked him with her toy screwdriver. But it did stun him to see it come at his face!)

Our Little Helper

Check out our little helper!
(Uncle Kyle, note the UCLA shirt you gave her! *wink*)

Since we have moved, Kourtney has been such a trooper, again! She hasn't stopped sleeping through the night, has been a happy baby, and a big helper. She watches Daddy working on things around the house and wants to help too.
So far she has "helped" us dust (the picture above-its the duster without the cloth on it), fix things (she has a plastic screwdriver that she'll go around and poke at things like the couch or door), and helped us explore the backyard. Its been a fun week with our little helper! *smile*
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm adding this picture I took today of Kourtney "fixing" the wall. She kept running up and down the hall "fixing" things. It was so cute!

Watch Out For That Ice!

Well, I've been getting some questions and I thought that by putting the "story" of my fall in a post, it might answer those questions for other people....for those of you who read this anyway, ha.

About a week ago Kollin and I drove in separate cars to go pick up a trailer we were going to borrow from my sister, Kelli and her husband, for moving. All went well and we returned home. I parked my car, and started walking over to Kollin's car, where he was unhitching the trailer, to get Kourtney out and get her in to go to bed, so we could have the rest of Valentines Night to ourselves. Ha, that didn't work out the way I wanted it to.

I was in the middle of the parking lot and had nothing to hold on to when I started to loose my footing. I remember was a loud bang (probably only a loud bang to me since it was my head, ha), then the next thing I remember is looking up at Kollin. He kept trying to get me to lay still, but since I was in the parking lot, I wanted to get out of the road. Kollin lifted my head onto his lap then I slowly got up. He got me into the car, drove to our parking spot, took Kourtney out then carried her, and half carried me up the stairs to our 3rd level apartment. I couldn't walk by myself at all.
While Kollin was putting Kourtney to bed, I just remember sitting there and trying to figure out what I wanted. I wanted to sit back or lay down, but it hurt too bad to move. Kollin came out, checked and cleaned up my head, gave me a comfort blessing, then called my midwife to tell her what happened and that he was going to take me to the ER. Next he called his Mom to have her come stay with Kourtney while we were gone. She was at our apartment in a few minutes and we were off. The drive hurt my head so bad, but it wasn't long to get there. They checked me into the ER in a few minutes, and confirmed that I had a minor concussion. They kept me there to monitor me, then wheeled me off to labor and delivery to monitor the baby and her heartbeat. I had some pretty strong and close contractions, but after an hour and half of laying there in labor and delivery, and drinking some water, they slowed down a lot. And the baby was fine. WHEW! Don't want to have her 7 weeks early!
Anyway, after about 4 hours in the hospital we were FINALLY able to go home! It was 2am and we were tired! We got home and Kollin called into work to take the day off and take care of Kourtney and I the next day.

A week later, I'm doing a lot better! I still have a sore spot on my head, but no bump. I still get blurry or double vision sometimes, but not all the time. I still get dizzy when I lay down or get up. And the other effects of my fall (like my tail bone) are showing up now that my head doesn't hurt so bad. But I am doing A LOT better now. I drove for the first time in over a week today and everything was fine. *smile* A lot of sleep and some Tylenol can do wonders for you!

I am so grateful for my wonderful husband for staying calm, and for all that he did. I didn't want to spend Valentine's Day in the ER, but I saw Kollin's love for me anyway, through the way he cared for me that night, and for this whole past week. Thanks to Kollin for the wonderful man, husband and father that you are!

I'm also grateful for our wonderful families who helped us move the day after my fall, and helped take care of Kourtney and I while I couldn't. You all have been awesome! I love you all!

It "DAWN"ed On Us...

Well, as you know, moving is a crazy ordeal. Especially when you can't find what you need. One of our first nights in the house, we couldn't find any dishwasher soap. Who knew that you really should use dishwasher soap in the dishwasher?? Kollin and I didn't! We thought, "Hey, lets use some Dawn in the dishwasher! That should work! LOL...Opps! Here is a picture of our mistake!

Luckily we found it that same night and were able to clean it up right away, and not the next morning, before Kollin went to work! Yikes! The water and bubbles were EVERYWHERE! Under the stove and fridge and even into the pantry!!! Hey, at least we know that the floor under the fridge and stove are CLEAN! *smile*

***NOW WE KNOW!!***

Fun with the Nielsen Kids!

The Nielsen's came to play today, and we had a lot of fun! Here are some pictures of Krista's crazy, fun kids! Thanks for coming to play today!

Devanie and Clayton, chillin on the climber

"SHHH! I'm hiding from Kourtney!"

Gotta love this picture of the wacky kids!

Ainsley wanted help playing with the puzzle magnets.

Isn't ClayMan Handsome!

Fun Aunt KayKay

Aunt KayKay (Kalen) came over to play yesterday, and saved Mommy's sanity. Since I've fallen, I haven't been myself (I'll explain more in another post), so KayKay came over yesterday to help me take care of my daughter, and to help Kourtney have fun!
They (and I when I could) went outside on the swings, "talked" with the doggies next door, explored the backyard, hid in the fort Daddy built, played on the climber, danced to music, and even did some water painting (thanks to Grandma Sue for the water painting book). What a FUN day with Aunt KayKay. Thanks for coming to play! We should do it again soon!

Just a Quick Note

Well...due to a nasty fall which ended with a sore tail bone and a concussion to the back of my head (watch out for that ice!), I haven't been able to do much lately. Including helping my family move...into our very own home we just bought! Yikes! Do I feel totally useless or what!? Anyway, I've got a few minutes and can only handle looking at the computer screen for a few minutes (the blurry vision gives me a headache) so I thought I'd post a cute little story.

Yesterday, around 7am I could hear Kourtney was awake in her room. But she was just making small noises so I didn't go in to get her yet. ONE HOUR later, she FINALLY started knocking on her door (thats what she does when she is awake from sleeping). When I went in to get her, she had books spread out all over her bed and her floor! She had been reading to herself the entire hour! It was awesome! She really is Kollin and my daughter *smile*, and we are so glad she likes to read. Of course she prefers us to read to her (over and over and over and over and...), but I'm glad she isn't afraid to look at books herself!

In a few days I will add more posts with more pictures, and fill you in on whats been going on. (Our new house, the move, my nasty fall-don't worry, baby #2 is fine!-and everything else thats been happening) But until then, know that we're doing well, recovering from colds and falls, and working hard to settle into our new home! Well, Kollin is! *smile*

Ta ta for now!

Happy Birthday To You, Kollin!

Yesterday was Kollin's birthday...his 26th birthday! We went and celebrated at Tucanos last night for dinner, with some of his and my family. We had a lot of good food, and a lot of fun with everyone there. These are just a few pictures of our night. Thanks to all of you who came to celebrate with us!

He got up and danced when they sung "Happy Birthday" in Portuguese!

Dinosaur Fun!

A couple weeks ago we went to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. Krista, Kelli and I with our kids all went, thanks to my Aunt Denise! We had a great day! Here are some fun pics from our outing. Thanks for a FUN day Aunt Denise!

All of us gathered around a statue of a small dinosaur.

Kourtney and I created our own fossil drawing!

Making mud slides and playing with toy dinosaurs.

Look at all this sand!

Showing off her fossil digging skills.

All the kids got a kick out of digging for fossils!

Kyden and Mommy! Don't they look so good!?

Aunt Denise and the "Stephenson" Moms (Ainsley and Kyden too)
(even though none of us are Stephenson's any more!)

A First for Everything...

Sunday night at Gia's house, Kourtney and Makinlee were playing in the living room when Kourtney fell and hit her mouth, making both bottom teeth cut into her top lip. It bled a lot and caused her to get her first fat lip ever. It was huge! The poor girl was tough though, and after a bit of crying and comfort, went right back to playing.
She's better now. She still has two cut marks in her mouth, a bruise on her lip and a slight bruise on her cheek, but no fat lip. Whew!

Our Very Own Superbaby!

Kourtney's cool Daddy may not have any boys, but he isn't afraid to introduce her to things that he loved as a boy. First the fort and now...a blanket cape!

Kollin tied Kourtney's pink blanket around her neck and she loved it!

Chances are, one reason she loved it was the fact that she could keep her blanket with her without needing to carry it everywhere.
And of course, anything she does with her Daddy, she LOVES! *smile*

She ran up and down the hall several times, making the "cape" fly behind her. It was SO fun to watch!

She's had Daddy tie her cape for her several times since this first introduction.
What a cool Daddy!

Its Snowing Again...Lets Go Swimming!

Yep, sounds crazy I know, but we did it!
Last Wednesday, it was snowing outside, but my sister Kelli and her son, Kyden met us at a pool to go swimming! We had a GREAT time and cannot wait to go again. The water was nice and warm, it was not crowded and the floor was padded so you can't scrape you toes or knees. It is so kid friendly, and has a couple different sections for babies to play. We took these pictures at the end of our 2 hour swimming time, so the kids were exausted, but we really did have a blast! :)
Thanks to my sister-in-law, Ashley, for recommending this awesome pool!

Aren't our kids CUTE! *wink*

Kyden LOVED the pool. It was so fun to watch him in the water.

This was also Kourtney's first time in a pool, and she loved it too! She enjoyed the slides the most, and wanted Mommy to go down them with her a lot!

I didn't have a bathing suit that fit my pregnant body, so I went in capries and a tank top. Luckily the life guards didn't feel the need to kick me out *wink*

This was at the shallow end of the pool. But the deepest was only 3 feet. There was another little kiddie section that was only 1 foot deep all the way around. We really had a great time, and can't wait to go again.
