Swimming!

We love swimming during the winter. The water is warm, and there are never very many people. Last winter we had a lot of fun at the Lehi Rec Center pool with Aunt Kelli and cousin Kyden. And for a while now, Kollin and I have been talking about taking the girls swimming at the pool down the road. Well, yesterday we finally did it!

It was SO much fun too. Kourtney was, of course, her cautious self, and took a while to get into it. She was very excited to be at the "wim pool", and loved getting into her swimsuit and walking into the water. But she wouldn't go very far in for a while. Once she warmed up though, she had no problem walking in water up to her stomach and chest, and even had fun crawling and splashing with Kayla. We were so proud of her.

And while Kourtney is our cautious one, Kayla, is our fearless one.
We sat Kayla down in the pool (just so you know its like a cement beach, starts out VERY shallow, and slowly goes deeper...only about 4 or 5 feet), and she started crawling and splashing around, and absolutely loving it. We had to stop her several times from crawling in too deep without us, and even had to make sure she coughed up all that nasty water she drank while trying to crawl under water *wink*. When we went to the deeper end, I had her on her belly and helped her kick, and she just had this huge grin on her face. It was so cute.

We will definitely go again, and are thinking about making it a weekly ritual for the rest of the winter.

I love having both personalities in our family. It is so fun to see how different our girls are (in looks and personality). They are both beautiful, but their coloring is so different. They are both so fun, but Kourtney is definitely more cautious, and laid back while Kayla is more aggressive and demanding (she didn't used to be...ha, oh boy...). It will be so fun to see where our girls take us and to see how they turn out. *smile* And even though their personalities differ so much, I hope they always remain friends!

Today

Kollin added another shelf to the laundry closet. I've wanted it for a while, and we finally got around to doing it today. Well, he did. I gave the girls a bath while he did that, so they wouldn't get in his way. *wink*
Thanks Kollin!

I have two B-E-A-UTIFUL girls!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, 2009!

We hope that you all had a fun and safe New Years Eve! We just kicked it here at home with my two brothers, and my sister-in-law. It was fun and being here made it easy because my kids were comfortable here at home.

Today, on New Years, we drove down to Holden, Utah, to see my grandparents. Grandma and Grandpa Great. My Mom and all my siblings showed up, and it was fun to see my Dad's parents again. We had a late lunch and had some fun on the quad out in the snow!
