August 7th @ 2:30am
Kourtney suddenly started calling out "Daddy!" I went in and started rubbing her back and she opened her eyes, looked at me and said, "I want Daddy." I think she mighta had a dream with Daddy in it and was missing him."

August 25th
Kourtney: Mommy, my necklace broke.
Mommy: Yep, sure did. I'll try to fix it but I'm not sure if I can.
Kourtney: (as she walks away) Daddy can fix everything.

September 12
Kourtney saying the prayer for lunch. "...please bless Daddy to be safe on his motorcycle, and that the storm won't knock him over..." Such a cute kid. She sure loves her Daddy!

September 22
Picked up Kayla from school, got in the car and headed to go pick up Kourtney.
Mommy: So Kiddo, how was school?
Kayla: It was good!
Mommy: what did you learn about?
Kayla: Let me show you! (puts on the hat she made) I'm Johnny Appleseed! (BIG grin)

October 23
Kayla and Mommy were talking and she saw my teeth.
Kayla: Uh oh Mommy. your 'teef' is falling out!
Mommy: My teeth?
Kayla: Yeah
Mommy: oh you mean this tooth?
Kayla nods her head.
Mommy: don't worry its not falling out, it just looks like it.
Kayla: you have to go to the dentist.
Mommy: I have to go to the dentist for my tooth?
Kayla: yeah so it doesn't fall out! You need to go to the dentist so you can keep you 'toof' in!

October 24
Mommy is watching Kayla and Kourtney play "House" when I notice that Kayla has SEVERAL layers on. From bottom layer to top:
Dance outfit
Swimsuit
Pair of red pants
Black peace sign sun dress
White flower sun dress.
SOOO pretty! (smile)

December 2
At M. Kourtney is playing with a kid, chasing after 'bad guys' and beating them up. Her moves are awesome! :)

Kayla's first day of Preschool

Okay I really thought this had been posted...apparently not.

Kayla started preschool this week too! She was a little hesitant on her first day, but when I picked her up, she had this huge grin on her face and she was SO excited about "my school"!

-------------------

Now that Kayla has been in preschool for a month, I can say that she still loves it! Its not uncommon for her to tell me how much she loves her school or how much fun she had at school. And usually when I ask her what she learned, she'll say "Let me show you." Love it!!

Wearing and learning about red on "Red Day".

Kourtney wants to serve a mission...

Last week after church Kourtney came home and announced she wanted to serve a mission. When Daddy asked where she wanted to go she said "In outer space!"

Kourtney's First Day of Preschool, Again

Because Kourtney was born on the 30th of September she misses the age deadline by about 3 weeks. So, she's going to preschool again this year, but to a different one. She's 2 days into it and so far she LOVES it.
Yay for loving school!  :)

January 31, 2011
Kourtney told me another dream.
"I was crawling on the sidewalk, and then I was crawling on the street. And I crawled ALL the way to a man. And he was drinking milk like I was!"
I asked if he was a nice man. She replied,
"He was a very mean man. He took my milk and drank it all gone!"

February 8th,
Mommy: "What do we need to do to live with Jesus again?"
Kourtney: "We need to go to outer space. Jesus lives in outer space."

February 16th,
Listening to the song 'Sweet Things Are Made Of You', and Kourtney started to sing "Everybody Wants to be a Cat". I guess the line "everybody's looking for something", can remind you of "everybody wants to be a cat..."

February 16th,
Driving behind a bus with an ad for a massage and spa place and Kourtney announced, "Hey Mom! That lady is dead!"

February 17th
So I went in to check on the girls before going to bed. They were not in Kayla's bed. They were not in Kourtney's bed. They are sleeping UNDER the bunk bed! Its so funny!

February 23rd (from my sister who watched my girls while I was out of town and Daddy was busy working),
*FYI I just held Kourtney in the rocking chair for over half an hour while she cried cuz she missed her daddy, she missed mommy, she wanted to be at her other friends house, she wanted a princess party, she wanted to go to build a bear, she wanted to have a real puppy with white hair that is long enough to put in a ponytail, ect.
*Oh and did you know that build a bear has lots of cool stuff like rubber bands and stuff?
*She was not happy with me that I was not letting her go home and sleep on her bed...and sometimes momma lets her sleep on the bean bag too...she was also not happy with me cause after about 14 times of getting up to pee in about a half an hour, I wouldn't let them out anymore, she told me her mom lets her and Kayla pee all the time all over the place (big arm circle for emphasis LOL).

February 25th, (another one from my awesome sister watching my kiddos)
Kourtney: "When I get taller like Jesus, I'll be like Daddy."

March 10th,
Kourtney asked me for some grapes and said she wanted to jump and eat the grapes. I told her I didn't want her jumping and eating at the same time because its a choking hazard. She said "I won't choke because I have a big head!" LOL

April 14th, (From my friend who was watching my girls and took them to a snake show)
Kayla said I could feed her to the python and the corn snake "tickled" Kourtney. No fear from those girls.

April 15th,
K&K Playing pretend. Kourtney got "hurt". Kayla takes a few steps and yells out "Bad guys! Why did you do that to my honey!? I'm punch you in the face!"

May 21st,
Me: Hey. Kourtney. I love you.
Kourtney: I love you too.
Me: Hey. You're so pretty.
Kourtney: *laughs* I know!

June 6th,
First bowling round of the Kids Bowl Free program this summer. An hour and a half long! Kayla got first place with 102, and Kourtney in 4th with 72. They're both better than me! ;)

June 13,
Kayla (as she pets my face): I missed you at my birthday.
Me: I was at your birthday. I made your birthday cake!
Kayla: (tilts her head to the side and looks like she's thinking hard...then walks away)

July 23rd,
After hiking Ensign Peak, Kourtney struggled getting down for fear of falling. After we made it to the bottom, she runs up to me, gives me a big hug and says, "You're my hero Mommy!" Brought me to tears!

July 29th
I LOVE to listen to Kourtney's prayers. She doesn't just thank the Heavenly Father for our blessings or ask for blessings but she also talks to him. Things like "Thank you for my purple curtains. They have Tinker Bell on them, and flowers." or "Thank you for going swimming today. I used my swimming wings and swam for a long time." or "Thank you for playing with Loren and Natalie. They came to our house and we colored and watched a movie." I love it!!

Video of Kollin's Form

Some of you might know that Kollin's karate school entered into a tournament a week ago. But you might not know that Kollin competed too. He asked me not to post pictures of him or his test on facebook so the students get recognized, but it doesn't mean I can't brag about him here on our family blog!!

There were several black belts competing. Kollin did Long Six. And so did 3 other black belts. And Kollin beat every one of them, even the 6th degree black belt! My husband pretty much ROCKS!

Here are a few more from the tournament.

With some of his students that participated in the tournament.

Warming up!

Kollin got 2nd place out of all the black belts!!

One of his adult students competed in point sparing and got first place! Way to go!!

I've been really slacking off at taking pictures. I'd like to say I'll get better at it this summer. We'll see. In the meantime here are some more quips from my girls...

April 7
Kayla: "Mommy? Where are you Mommy?"
(She finds me)
"Oh there you are. I was worried about you! I love you Mommy!"

April 14
A friend was watching Kourtney and Kayla. She took my girls to the cub scout meeting, where they had snakes. "Kayla said I could feed her to the python, and the corn snake 'tickled' Kourtney. No fear from those girls." :)

Here Comes Trouble

We got a dog last month! He is a 7 year old (considered a Senior dog) Boxer. He is a good strong dog, but very mellow. He is great with the kids and so patient. He doesn't like the snow but LOVES the outdoors when the weather is good. He thinks the lawn mower so fun and loves the fresh cut grass. He is camera shy, but we've been able to get some good pics of him anyway. We've been loving him and think he is so cute! Here are some pictures of our dog Trouble!

On the drive home when we picked him up. He jumped right into the front seat. We've since taught him to stay in the back.

Introducing him to the house and back yard.

He is so mellow and patient with the girls.

Tired after a good run!

He is a good strong dog and can jump VERY high!

From December
(Putting on lipstick)

Cornbellys 2010

We've been able to go to Cornbellys every year since we discovered it. We missed 2009 though. But we got to go again in 2010 and it was such a blast. Both girls were old enough to participate in all the young kid activities and we loved it! We stayed later than we had planned on.

We met the Pumpkin Princess, and got to dress up!

We went with my sister in law, Ashley and her 2 cute girls!

Kayla thought it was great fun to hide her feet in the sand.

Yeah, they wanted to at first then we got a few feet inside and decided against it.

Kourtney and Kayla loved this one...
(although I have NO idea who the boy is though...hmmm *wink*)

Me? Not so much!
It hurt and I was feeling it for a while that day!

And the hay ride before we left.

Thanks to Ashley, Makinlee and Addison for a fun day!
