First Karate Test

For those of you who don't know, Kollin has finally started his own karate school. He teaches out of two different recreation centers, Kearns Rec Center and Coperview Rec Center in Sandy. He is loving it! And starting the first Wednesday of August, he will be teaching a class in ASL for the Deaf.
Last Saturday was the first kids test. 9 of his students advanced to yellow belt. Very cool. Lots of proud parents there!

We had a pizza party afterwards. It was fun to finally meet the kids I've heard so much about.

Kollin with his adult students. They helped out with judging the test.

Las Vegas...2009

We went to Las Vegas with Daddy this year. Every year Jeff Speakman Kenpo Karate holds a karate camp. I went with Kollin when I was pregnant with Kourtney and stayed at my aunts with my Mom and sister while he went to the camp. This time was definitely different.
I had both girls with me. My Mom was with us again. It was fun visiting with her and my aunt's family, and Mom was nice enough to babysit when I joined Kollin at the karate banquet.
Thanks to Aunt Shirlene for letting us stay at her house!

We went swimming with Daddy before he left to the karate camp.

By the end of the week, Kourtney was brave enough to go out on her own. She had her swim wings and water noodle, but she was still doing it on her own. She became my little fish! *wink*

It was VERY warm in Vegas, so when we weren't swimming, we were usually inside.

Aunt Shirlene had a lot of fun big books!

Kollin and BreAn at the karate banquet. It was a lot of fun. Thanks Mom, for babysitting!
These pictures aren't exactly in order and there are lots of random ones. But they're all cute! *smile*

My little sparing girl! *wink*

Swimming and playing with the sprinkler at Grandma Sue's with Kyden and Kiara!

4th of JULY! It was fun but it was ruined for Kourtney when she grabbed the sparkler with her fingers just after it went out but was still red. She screamed for almost 45 minutes (understandably so) because it hurt so bad and scared her. Daddy was really good at getting her to keep the ice on it. I ended up having to lay down in her bed with her that night to get her to fall asleep. Poor girl. The burn marks were on her fingers for a couple weeks, and she kept showing everyone her "owie".

(She's WARM in her winter pjs 'cuz she wouldn't wear anything else to bed. They are very comfy.)

The girls love riding in the cars at the grocery store together.

Thanks to Uncle JR teaching Kourtney how to play baseball, she loves it! She got a small plastic base ball and baseball bat from Grandma Sue that she loves playing with. She's usually at bat. *smile*

Kayla loves spaghetti! She eats SO much of it each time. Where does she fit it?

Daddy's awesome father's day gift that I got for a steal of a deal!

Kourtney and Kayla went to their first parade the last weekend of June...WestFest 2009!

She became VERY excited about the Princess float.

With it being her first parade, she had a little difficulty understanding why I was telling her to run out in the middle of the road and why I was letting her pick candy off the ground and eat it. That goes against everything I usually say! But she had a lot of fun.

Kourtney had fun dancing with Sydney, a girl from nursery.

Kourtney and Mommy helped Kayla figure out how to climb on the Kangaroo Climber

I Went Flying!

GOTTA LOOOVE IT!!!

I had a great time flying over Antelope Island. Ha, poor Kollin didn't feel to well after. Its a bumpy ride sitting in the back. But I'm still glad he went with me!

An awesome birthday present! Thank you Dad and Verna!

What Have We Been Up To!?

Yeah, its been a while....again. Here are some of our adventures!

Using Mommy's lip gloss as lotion

Getting into the Nesquick strawberry milk powder, and discovering what happens when you dump the whole thing out on the rug.

They also experimented with all four of my food dye bottles (yeah, Kourtney can climb the pantry shelves, ha). I have a better picture of Kourtney COVERED in green, but she isn't exactly modest so I won't post it.

Good for you for having fun, being creative and exploring your senses...even if it does mean Mommy has a HUGE mess to clean! *wink*

More fun pics to come!
