Another Short Update

Kourtney got sick last weekend. What we thought was Chickenpox, turned out to be a case of Roseola. While the Roseola rash is still fading, we were SO grateful it wasn't Chickenpox!!

You can't see them very well in these pictures, but there are red spots all over her face.

Its HOT! You need to be very careful...

Kourtney's turn!

Ever since she helped me make brownies a month or two ago, Kourtney loves to help me cook, especially eggs. She loves cracking them. She always asks to "make", so I use the kitchen tool kit she got for her birthday, a couple bowls and water, and that satisfies her...sometimes. *smile*

Kourtney and Mommy painting outside.

Her oatmeal bubble bath when we thought it was Chickenpox.

Daddy added lots of new windows to Kourtney's very cool cardboard house. She loves that thing!

Kayla Sue

I can't believe Kayla is already 8 months old! Where has the time gone!? It seems to go much faster when you've got two...
Here are a few updates about this (not so little anymore) girl.
  • She has TWO teeth now! The second one popped up sometime last week and I didn't even know it. Kollin was the one to point it out to me.
  • Kayla started crawling on her hands and knees last week (instead of just scooting)!
  • She is pulling herself up on anything and everything, and will usually only hold on with one hand.
  • She gets up on her hands and feet and tries crawling that way.
  • She is a tough little one. Any times she falls, she doesn't cry, she just gets up and tries again. (unless it was a real bad fall)
  • She is becoming a little talker. She loves to have "conversations" with us. And whenever we smile at her while she is talking, she does a little laugh and keeps talking.
Here are a few pictures of her from last weekend.

This was taken the morning Kayla started crawling. Daddy and I got excited, so Kourtney wanted to join in on the fun and crawl with Kayla. It didn't last long, but it was so cute when they did.

Below is a video of Kayla talk. I was napping and Daddy caught this on film. Just another use of bragging rights by her parents! *smile*

I Am Thankful

Its a good thing I didn't promise a Gratitude post every week, eh? Oh well! I figure I'll carry this on through December, because even though I haven't been diligent at doing Gratitude posts, I really do have a lot to be grateful for.

I am thankful.

For my home. The ward is great, the neighbors are friendly, but most of all, its a place where the people I love most can be together and feel warm, dry, safe, loved and know that the spirit of the Lord is there.

For my girls. These two darling girls are my constant reminders of always being grateful (especially when Kourtney says "Thankm Mama"! *wink*). Kourtney is SO fun and always wants to play. She helps keep me young at heart. Who knew swinging could be fun and relaxing?? Kayla is such a smiley and happy baby. Her smile never fails to put one on my face too!

First Real Snow of the Season

Well, the next day was definitely colder. It snowed off and on all day, and Kourtney LOVED it! But the slacker I am didn't have any snow clothes for her at the time, so I layered her up and she was out in her pjs, shoes, jacket and hat, but she still had a great time! She asked to play in the snow several times that day, and every day that it lasted! *smile*

Pictures by Fenn Photography

Its about time I post these! I totally forgot that I had not added them to our blog! Oops!
In the middle of September we went and got the girls pictures taken by the Fenn's.
We got Kourtney's two year pictures, and Kayla's 6 month pictures taken, and they did a great job! Here are some of the awesome pics. Well, there is a lot, but I love bragging about my girls. I think they are absolutely gorgeous!

More Pictures and Stories!

A few pictures from today. The weather was cold, so we weren't outside long. Tomorrow is supposed to be even colder. Yuck. I hope I can keep us all entertained!

Kayla is getting SO close to crawling! She can go from laying down to sitting, from sitting to laying down, she can pull her knees under her and get on all four, but then she lunges forward, and doesn't catch herself. She isn't quite 8 months yet, and is SO close. Yay! Crawl, Kayla crawl!!!

If you look close, you can see her one tooth. *smile*

I I got an idea off of the internet to double some construction paper over, trace Kourtney's hand, cut it out and tape it to a stick. You can pretend it is a spider or butterfly. We did a spider since Halloween was only a few days ago.

We sang "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and made it "crawl" on the ground.

"A leaf!"
She kept calling it a leaf, even after singing the song. Oh well. She had fun with it, and thats the point!

Some more pictures..

Kourtney loves to wash her hands, and now she figured out she can do it by herself with her stool. Mommy just needs to turn on the water for her. *smile*

I know I already posted this picture but its the only one I've got.
Kourtney has a new love for swinging! She's finally figured out that she can sit on the swing on her own and push with her feet. She now spends most of her time outside on the swings.
Today was so cute. I went inside to take care of something, and peeked out the window and she was just talking, pushing herself on the swing, not even minding that she was by herself. It was SO CUTE! I wish I had taken a picture of it but.....next time!

Patient kids eat pizza, while their Mommas canned some apples

Kayla LOVES eating bananas this way

Wearing her FUN new shirt that her Aunt Krista got her. Its super baby, improved!

Kourtney loves painting. After getting her hands and fingers in the water color paint, I got out an apple.

I cut the apple in half and we used it as a stamp.

It was a fun activity!
